The wreck of the Greenpeace "Rainbow Warrior", marked by a yellow
buoy. The vessel was bombed by the French in 1985 killing one and was
sunk here to form an artificial reef as a memorial in 1987. The wreck
lies on sandy bottom with a maximum depth of 26 metres. It is covered
in bright jewel anemones and surrounded by blue maomao, mackerel,
snapper and kingfish. Sandagers and scarlet wrasses, combfish, pigfish
and golden snapper and octopus all inhabit the wreck.
There is nothing more enticing, disenchanting, and enslaving than the life at sea.
