The best kept secret of Vava'u! This amazingly active and diverse snorkel
site can entertain you for hours. Work your way from the west side of the
resort's pier right from the very shallows out and along to the
westernmost point and then down a little. You might want to have two
attempts so you catch it all. The pipefish that litter the reef are a real
treat and if you hit it as the light starts to fade you will see more and
more of the painted rock lobsters' with their dead giveaway white
antennae. Crown of thorn starfish, giant clams, trumpetfish and
irredescent young squid were just a few of the spectacles vying for our
attention here. Check with locals where to anchor if you're going here
though, the cruising guide will have you anchoring on (and destroying)
enormous and fragile table corals.
