A beautiful island with a perfect swimming spot at its north western tip where the sandy beach drops steeply away. Walk around to the eastern side and you will be met with a very different islandscape where it meets the Pacific Ocean. We watched a group of young blacktip reef sharks hunting small fish in the shallows which was fabulous. The reef on this side has been pretty well destroyed by a cyclone sadly and the strandline is pretty depressing with all the plastic bottles and jandals (flipflops/thongs) littered along it. Still, a stunning place all the same. The island has lots of noddy terns nesting in the trees and frigate birds and tropic birds soar overhead.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
