Tonight we're at a nice anchorage at Escape River. Well, it's good holding, v calm, and the scenery (red bauxite rocks, mangroves and the whitest silica dunes beyond) is lovely.... At least to me!
However, one of the ladies aboard is not quite as keen as the other for a shore run, and prob fair enough, as it does kinda seem like Croc country. Somewhat disappointed we haven't actually spotted any yet... but that may be coz they are absent, scarce, or just cunning blighters eh?!
Oh well, as we are now only about 22nm south of Cape York (the 'Top End'), tomorrow should see us round that, have a quick stop for obligatory photos and make a short leg south-west to a small settlement called Sesia, where a definite shore run and potential doggy treat resupply should make us all even happier!
