The Tuamotos were all we had hoped them to be in terms of dreamy tropical
islands, think coconut palms, white sand and azure waters. After a week in
Kauehi with only a couple of other boats for (great) company, we headed
over to Fakarava, where we spent another fortnight....I wished we could
have stayed a lot longer! A final hop for 4 days at Anse Amyot on Toau then
saw us depart for a short (2 day, 225nm) passage to the Society Islands and
the country's bustling capital (Papeete on Tahiti).
Here we spent a fortnight, with about half in the (half-price!) marina
located right in the heart of the city and the other at 3 anchorages.
Next up was a daysail here to Tahiti's neighbour Moorea.
