Hiding in the sticks at Chilligoe. We found an abandoned quarry and thought it looked like a fitting place to spend the evening. It was an interesting drive from Cairns, in that we missed a turn at Mareeba, so ended up doing a little detour through Irvinebank which turned out to be a pleasant if not unexpected surprise. It was an old mining town complete with historic buildings, vehicle and machinery relics and a narrow winding dirt road. [END]
