[status] On passage from Brazil towards Cape Verdes
Terrible night of rain and squalls but it's getting better now. So much rain. Someone suggested I should write poems but the only rhymes I have in my head just now are full of four letter words! Thinking back over the last few days you might think all is doom and gloom on Ithaka. Well not all the time. We had fine rainbows today and are now on course and making good speed.
Since I can't think of a poem I thought you might like this one sent to us by Jo, Ithaka cat sitter and supporters club, Edinburgh. It sums up the last 24 hours quite nicely!
It rained and rained and rained and rained,
The average it was well maintained,
And when our fields were simply bogs,
It started raining cats and dogs,
After a drought of half an hour,
There came a most refreshing shower,
And then the queerest thing of all,
A gentle rain began to fall.
