[status] After about 430nm of motorsailing into the wind since leaving Singapore, last night at 0045 local we were able to transition to true sailing... it had been over 14 months since Kailani has been out on the water, and even more since actually sailing, since our 2015 was mostly a motorsailing cruise through Indonesia / Malaysia & Thailand. She and we can definitely feel the pull of the open water and are excited to be in the SE trades again. But we can't let her run just yet, as we are trying to slow Kailani down to time our arrival at the Sunda Strait for dawn tomorrow morning. Our overnight promises to be more coastal "dodging" as the water narrows as we approach Sunda Strait [END]
There is nothing more enticing, disenchanting, and enslaving than the life at sea.
