Hello again from the good ship Manutaki, sailing through a balmy night, nearly under tropical skies. We had.a great day today. Bas caught our first fish, a Mahi-Mahi, which was absolutely delicious. Bas caught it, cleaned it, filleted it and cooked it while the rest of us just admired.
We are still sailing under blue skies across lumpy seas, and the temperature is increasing every day. The jeans and cardy have long been discarded in favour of shorts and no shirt in the saloon. Outside we are still tight reaching and wearing big seas across he boat regularly, so it's still full "foulies" out there.
We should pass south minerva reef well to port early Thursday morning, and hope to be in the lagoon at north Minerva lunchtime-ish. I think the fleet will regroup there to dry out and tell tall stories about tuna that got away. It has been a wet passage with lots of salt everywhere.
That's all for now, got to put on the sopping wet weather gear and get on watch.
More from Minerva...[END]
