[w]Wind ESE 20-25kts. 90% cloud cover. Baro 1020
[s]Yesterday the wind came up in the morning and it has blown like snot since â occasional gusts up to 30kts. Weâre back in the village anchorage where we have excellent shelter from the wind chop but, even so, itâs a wet dinghy ride ashore. The villagers are all complaining of the wind and the cold and itâs certainly not what was on the brochure! Ah well, plenty to do ashore â we climbed âThe Mountainâ (about 200ft but the highest point on the island) yesterday and, apart from nearly being blown off it, were rewarded with wonderful views of the surf crashing onto the southern reef.
Weâre having our host family aboard for lunch today then back into the village for a fundraiser this evening.[END]
