[status] Day 54... Last night was a night to forget. The forecast was right and the winds came in on dark and kept strengthening. Up to 30k on the nose as we say. The boat pounding and heeling, the rain falling, the salt spray everywhere and it is pitch black. Struggled to make our way point...Decided to use diesel once again in the early hours of the morning. Fortunately we had decided before the blow to take the short cut through the south lagoon of New Caledonia. Cutting about 40 miles off our trip and enjoying flat water. And what a good decision that was... It turned out we desperately needed fuel. So we are on our way there now!
