She is a 47ft whiting design cutter rigged sloop. She is 18 tons, well built and strong. In 15 knots we achieve 7 knots to windward and get up to 8 knots on a reach and 7.5 knots downwind. We start motoring if we drop below 6 knots hull speed (in 8 to 10 knots of breeze). So 160 to 190 mile days. We will have 4 people on board. 3 with offshore experience and the 4th is a good sailor. We keep Flying Cloud II at Gulf Harbour and sailed up here to Fiji in June. We are planning to depart Denerau, possibly tomorrow, for the passage back to NZ.
