Heatwave is a Lavranos Compass 47 built in South Africa in 1984. Having spent 6 weeks cruising from our home port Waikawa, Picton to Opua in the Bay of Islands, we are about to embark on our, 10 years in the planning, first cruise to the Islands. Specifically Tonga and Fiji.

A good start to day 3! 12 to go, maybe? All well on board. Making east to try to get into large slow moving high and then into the trades. That’s the plan anyway!

Sky is partially clear, Still same 1-2m lumpy sea.About 75miles off Northland coast. Picton ETA Thursday morning, unless we speed up when NW comes in. All well onboard.

Lumpy seas not overly big, several S fronts came through. Lots of lightning towards North Cape last night. This is not a fast trip!! All well onboard.

They are around 200nm from Norfolk coming in from the NE. GHR will not be on air tomorrow but they will not be moving from there until conditions permit.
