Heatwave

Heatwave is a Lavranos Compass 47 built in South Africa in 1984. Having spent 6 weeks cruising from our home port Waikawa, Picton to Opua in the Bay of Islands, we are about to embark on our, 10 years in the planning, first cruise to the Islands. Specifically Tonga and Fiji.

Hot day yesterday and last night. Anchored at Lautoka to stock up. Boat is covered in black ash we think from the sugar mill not far away. No wonder not many boats here! Will move down to Denerau

Arrived in Savusavu yesterday afternoon after 24 hours of motoring in very little wind and smooth glossy seas. Very humid in Savusavu with no breeze yet! Will clear customs and officially enter Fiji
