Kahia is a Bowman 42, monohull/fiberglass, sloop, built in the UK and launched in Newhaven, East Sussex on 21st February 2007 by Paul and Catherine Davis, the first and current owners. Our maiden voyage was in the English channel along to Falmouth (Kahia's place of conception), Scilly Isles, Brittany/France, Channel Islands and back to our homeport Brighton, East Sussex. In 2008 we sailed for 3 months across the Bay of Biscay, Northern Spain, Portugal and returned to Brighton. In 2009 Kahia and her husband and wife crew completed her first Ocean Passage to the Azores, Portugal and return to Brighton, which was a qualifying passage of over 1000 ocean miles for the membership of the OCC (Ocean Cruising Club). In September 2011 we started our voyage of a lifetime from Brighton, crossed the Atlantic in Dec 2011 sailed in the Carribean, ABC islands, Kuna Yala and arrived in the Pacific in 2012 with the classic crossing from Panama, Galapagos, Marquesas, Tuamotus, Society Islands, Niue, Tonga and had a spectcular passage to NZ (along side Adventure Bound and Windigo, which was unfortuately abandoned during this passage). We were part of the Drifter's Net then and also listened into Gulf Harbour Radio during this time. In 2013 we sailed to Fiji, New Caledonia and Brisbane, cruised along the Australian coast to Sydney and back to Brisbane and sailed to New Caledonia end of July 2014. We look forward to hearing from you and complete any further forms to keep a radio watch with you while in Transit. Thank you for your excellent support and weather information. Kind regards Paul and Catherine Davis
