Weather: 12 knts, overcast, raining a bit

Arrived! No damage at all, which seems like a wonder talking to other people of whom many tore sails in the front we had. I wonder why we sailed to New Zealand; it's grey, cold, wet, many rules. Miss the tropics already!!!!

Illona and Franz - we are so glad to see that you made it! Congratulations! We are still at Big Mamas YC - with 2 other boats. We are discussing weather to leave from here by end of the week - lets see what GHR says.... All the best - sending you lots of sunbeams and a few degrees Celsius from Tongatapu ;-) See you in NZ!

Thanks! We're now following you, hope to see you in NZ soon and safe! Have a good trip!

Yesterday we had around 15 hours a counter current of 1.5 - 2 knots! Around 3AM luckily we got rid of it. Sailing nicely at around 6-7 knots at the moment. Sunny. Beautiful day and well in the twenties still! :-)

Weather: 8nts NW, 1m LONG PERIOD swell no waves, 100% cloud cover

Yesterday and all night we've been a motor boat. NO wind AT ALL. But very smooth comfortable seas so we enjoyed it nevertheless and did a lot of things on board like cleaning the dinghy on deck, printing pictures, writing the blog etc :-) The wind just picked up a bit and will keep on increasing...

Run: 135.6nm (245.4km)
Avg: 5.3knts
24hr: 126.6nm

Weather: 7knts SE, 2m LONG PERIOD swell no waves, high cirrus whispery

It was another beautiful blue water sailing day yesterday! Good speed with nice winds and sunny clear skies. Since we see the whispers coming, we know it's changing but hopefully we will be north enough to avoid the worst. Still sunny skies at the moment and very light winds but in the right direction :-)

Run: 129.9nm (235.1km)
Avg: 5.6knts
24hr: 134.4nm

Weather: 10knts SW, 2-3m long period swell SW, fair weather cumulus 50% but looks like dissolving when sun comes out and air temp will rise.

It was another beautiful blue water sailing day! The only clouds were few cute fair weather cumulus and for the rest sunshine and a small breeze. Only thing that could have been better was the direction of the wind, it's been (and still is) from the SW, the direction we want to go. But it's not too bad since it's better to stay north for a while because otherwise we will get hammered too much by the Fr-Sa front.

Weather: 8knts SSE, 1m sea, 100% blue sky not a single cloud, not even cirrus clearest sunrise ever for me. Wind was up to 18 knots this night, just died down.

Yesterday was no wind at all after late morning. We briefly stopped with three boats Margansie, Lionheart and Omweg. Frans (Omweg) and Ray (Lionheart) both went swimming to Margansie and shared some stuff, we got freshly caught fish and a delicious cake from Margansie :-D We're enjoying the warm sunny weather during the last day.

Happily slowly sailing on almost flat sea and mostly very little wind without using engine, in the meantime weaving a basket :-)
