SEQUOIA is a Mason 53 ketch registered in San Diego, CA.  Her owners, Carl and Jan Paul, hail from Sausalito in the San Francisco Bay area.  After cruising in Mexico for several years, they left for the Pacific crossing in March 2014.  They are now enjoying an extended period of sailing in the "South Pacific eddy", i.e., spending 6 months in New Zealand and 6 months in the islands (Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia) every year.
