Silver Fern is a raised-saloon steel monohull sloop. She started life as a Birdsall 60 and was completely modified from the hull-up in Auckland between 2001 and 2004 to a design provided by Brett Bakewell-White. She is now a 70 foot blue water cruiser. Martha Mason and Bryce Sommerville are currently finishing an 11-year circumnavigation, and expect to arrive in Whangarei about the 2nd week of November 2015.
