Tamariki is a timber ketch designed and built by Gary Wheeler in Auckland and launched 1982. Sail number 4790. NZ registered number is 394802. She is 14.5m x 4.2m x 2m draft and 14.2 tonnes.displacement

She has sailed to the pacific (2003, 04 and 05), 2014, 15.and French Polynesia 2017

Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Australian east coast to Tasmania then back to Picton NZ 2018/2019. Now cruising South Island and then on to Stewart Island in 2020

Glorious dawn. wind speed and direction now settled. crappy last night, hove to for a while as front went through.
All well on board.

sailing quickly. wind slowly increasing as front approaches. main 2 reefs, 30% genoa Bread and scones were great. All well on board.

motoring since 1930 hrs yesterday with reefed main to slow the roll All well on board. have to bake bread today

sailing with small staysail and 25% genoa. sea still rough but dropping. a few 4o kn gusts last night and early morning. a much better ride now.
