Hot day ahead. Possibly the smoke will keep the temperature down a little. The pictures were taken this morning here in McCarrs Creek. Looks like fog but it’s smoke! Quiet day on board.
Quick motor sail yesterday from Sydney Harbour to Broken Bay ( America Bay ).
In Morning Bay tonight and in the general area for a while. It’s very calm and quiet.
Lucy is still covered in red dust and ash.
Right there anchored with the
The wild Sydney storms passed us once again to the north and south. Just a few gusts and a patch of rain. Thinking about heading north to Broken Bay in the next few days. There was a twilight yacht race in the bay yesterday, we watch the jostling at the start line and two yachts collided, but all was well and they just exchanged a few expletives.
Stunning clouds with storms to the north of us. Cooling down at last. All is well.
In an effort to reclaim some small level of fitness we walked into Lane Cove. Nice view of the city as we strolled home. Very wealthy area and as such a distinct lack of laundromats. Grotty yachty !
Spooky sunrise
Up at sparrows this morning to beat the heat. Quick shop then a motor back to Lane Cove. Windy day so stayed on board. All is well.
Welcome to Lane Cove, my old
Busy day today collecting spare parts for Lucy. Hired a “car next door”, to run about in. Sydney traffic is madness for folks like us who usually only travel at 5 knots. Still had time to enjoy 3 Ferry rides, jacaranda tree lined streets, street library and a beer at Kings St Wharf. Great day !
I’ve probably said it a few times now but the public transport system here is fantastic. Operation “find Kerosene”, was successful. Bus to bus to bus. Easy. Picture is of the nice little parkland, walking/running and dog walking track next to us.
Warm day, awning up! Back to Blackwattle today and a grocery top up. It gets busy here Friday-Monday so we were lucky to find a spot for Lucy. It’s only a small area that we are allowed to anchor in so it can be quite tricky. All is well.
Round the corner to the beautiful Lane Cove river. Many boats in the bays and stunning Jacaranda trees on the shore. Lazy day aboard, studying and make n mend.
Hi! Yes, wonderful. It
Wild Oats putting the hard word on Lucy!
Nice having a chat with you
Now that the wind has eased the city has filled with smoke from the NSW fires. The Beaver Moon tonight won’t be so bright with all the smoke. 37 degrees tomorrow, a rough day for firefighting.
Back in Blackwattle Bay. We are feeling like locals here, leaving Kabbage at the pontoon, walking to our favourite shops and hopping on and off the local buses. Sat out a south westerly blow yesterday and unable to go ashore so it was nice to have a walk today.
Back to Sydney today. Wild Oats crossed our bow near the Bridge, we are putting in a protest. They probably have some flimsy excuse like trying to avoid colliding with the ferry that was on our port side stern. Alls well.
Didn’t know there is
Slowly recovering from the Wooden Boat Festival. Nice quiet time in America Bay. Back to Sydney soon. All is well aboard.
RMYC Timber Boat Festival
Fun and busy time at the festival. We had many interesting people on board and visited several lovely timber boats. We were even lucky enough to have a professional blue grass banjo player onboard who played us a few songs. We are relaxing now in a quite bay recovering from the festivities
Left Lucy yesterday at the yacht club to enjoy the lovely Timber boats arriving for the festival this weekend while we went into the Big smoke ( literally) to obtain our USA visas.
Over the Sydney Harbour Bridge! Loving the fabulous NSW public transport system. Ready for a big weekend here at the RMYC Timber Boat Festival. More pictures to come.
Magic day. Went over to RMYC Pittwater for fuel and water this morning. Had a quick look around as the Wooden Boat Festival is here this weekend. Impressive club with very friendly staff. Looking forward to being apart of the festival. Lovely afternoon in Morning Bay. Stunning weather!
Sydney to Broken Bay today.
Getting ready for the Wooden Boat Festival this weekend. Nice trip to Broken Bay , 3 whales, one showing off!
Gotta love this location. Short walk through tree lined streets and beautiful old homes to fresh fruit and veggies. Constant parade of runners and dog walkers on the shore and great city lights at night.

We had a very good trip to Sydney. Had just over one knot of current against us and just enough wind to stop the sails flapping. Motor sail the whole way in 1.5-2m swell. Sunny blue sky and clear night. 2 hour watches so we are a little tired now. Currently in Blackwattle Bay on anchor. Breakfast then a catch up sleep xxxxxxx zzzzz
About 35 nm south of Sydney. Slowing Lucy down so we can be at Sydney Heads for first light. All is well.
We went over to Long Bay yesterday for the northerlies, and then back here to Vincentia this morning for the westerly winds. Still looking good for a departure for Sydney tomorrow. Of course another stunning sunset last night and blue sky today.
All is well aboard.
Nice little walk into Vincentia today.
Bit wobbly on our sea legs but enjoyed the walk. Had a chat to a local on the way, see picture.
Hi guys, we follow you when
moved to Long Bay for the north winds today. All is well aboard.
Had a fabulous day yesterday exploring the area by car, great scenery, weather and fine company. Thanks Don! Xx
Relaxing day aboard .. Both feeling a lot better after an easy day.
Sunset in Jervis Bay.
After a review of the weather and sailing conditions this morning we have decided to stay put here in Jervis. Looks like nice weather for exploring the bay from tomorrow on, we plan to do a few walks, resupply with fresh veggies and enjoy some sunshine.

Arrived here about 10.30am. Too much rain to take a picture. Catching up on some zzzz and heater is on drying out our wet weather gear. Just a little step closer to Japan. :-)
Looks like our waiting in Eden is coming to an end.... we will be off in the am, no fixed destination Jervis or Sydney see how we are going. We have had this boat along side this week filling up with logs 24/7. Mmm interesting.
Aha , now at Hole in the Wall
Will be thinking of you and
Back to south anchorage Eden. Fingers and toes crossed for a departure on Thursday. Lucy enjoyed a nice rain shower this morning to wash away the salty Bass Strait crossing. All fresh again.
It’s a nice start to the day when you see a whale frolicking in the bay! Back in the Nth anchorage. Batten down the hatches for a windy arvo. ! Small visitor on board yesterday. See picture. (We must have upset him as he gave us a good telling off. )
All is well aboard :-)
We are doing the Eden Shuffle.. back in the Southern anchorage for the southerly wind then back to the northern side of the bay tomorrow for the north winds.
T-Shirts at last and of course last night another stunning sunset.
AAH yes the "Eden shuffle" or
Into Eden this morning. We both enjoyed the walk over hill and dale into town, fresh vegetables at last and a coffee at a local cafe. Counted 10 pelicans in the bay.
Nice walk ashore yesterday see pictures.
Moved closer to Eden town ... and hot showers! Looks like we are here for a week waiting for southerlies.
Finally the wind has eased and it’s quiet again. Birds are singing ! A trip ashore is the order for the day. We have not been on land for just over a week and the sandy beach awaits.
Had a relaxing day on anchor recovering from the passage across. Met some other folks on a beautiful sailer/trawler heading South to Tasmania. Will move back to Eden docks tomorrow for a top up of fuel, water and chocolate. Looks promising for a departure to Jervois Bay on Monday first light.

Busy time on the slip ! Lucy painted and shiny again. 2 Seals in the bay to inspect our new anti fouling.
Survived the Easterly Gale now ready for tomorrow’s Sw gale. (Someone was actually surfing the breaking waves at the entrance to Prosser Bay this arvo!)
Stopped here to take the dinghy into Triabunna for a stretch of the legs and a small shop.
Alls well aboard!
Great to see you on another
Yesterday we moved to Maria Island, (Darlington) to sit out the Easterly weather on its way. Our 1.5 hour trip over included 2 Dolphin pods, a Whale sighting, stunning sunset and an interesting view of the harbour. Unfortunately the wind won’t allow us a trip ashore, but the weather will keep us entertained for the next 24 hours. !
Painting, reading and relaxing in the sun. The pictures are from the seaside village of Orford. Highlights for today ....seeing some fish (at last), finished painting the bulwarks and gazing into the clear water of the bay.
Sun is shining, nice dinghy trip into town.

Hello from Ile Neba northern tip of New Caledonia. We have had some wonderful sailing the last few days along the beautiful coast of New Cal. We have rounded the tip and will slowly make our way back to Noumea by the end of this month. Neba looks stunning but it's too windy today to go ashore, maybe tomorrow. All is well aboard. Thanks for the emails hope to respond when we get back to some wifi as we continue to need our precious data for weather. SV Lucy
