[status] After many marvelous experiences in Glacier Bay, it was time to
start heading south. We are docked at Hoonah, the oldest Tlingit community
in Alaska (settled when glaciers overran their previous home in what is now
Glacier Bay). More than a convenient fuel stop, it?s a small and charming
little town.

grand finale experience was having a humpback whale do barrel rolls and
fiercely slap its flukes on the water, just yards from our boat while we
were anchored at Willoughby Island waiting for a favorable current. Wow!
