The cabin of a small yacht is truly a wonderful thing; not only will it shelter you from a tempest, but from the other troubles in life, it is a safe retreat.

[status] Hello sports fans,
Another wonderful day sailing with the assy spinnaker. We are now of a similar latitude to Brisbane and the temperature is warming. The wind has held steady through the night from the south-south west, as forecast, and we expect later today it will back around to the south east.

The ship and crew are settling into a good rythm and we have tacked down our course to avoid running flat off with poles etc in a seaway, wind has been over the aft quarter for 2 days now and we slide down these big waves, heading East quickly now after turning above the Kermadec Trench. We cracked off a 201 NM day yesterday, noon to noon so nobody is complaining.

Thanks

Tony

[status] With the wind ranging between 15 and 30 knots, it made for an interesting night at sea, dodging the rain showers that show up on the radar. Rod just made the comment that all is good, we are afloat, that always helps when you are sailing! We are making good progress with 614nm to South Minerva Reef and 158nm from Opua. Currently we have about 20% cloud cover and 12-15 knots of wind from the south.
