A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.

Passage going well.. Winds can be a bit light/fickle, but enough to make progress without too much use of engine (as we're keen to not stop in Socotra or Djibouti if we can help it and thus need to save fuel for potential use before we go past!). Crew and Mili happy... apart from the fact that no bloody fish are biting! :-(

[Status] We are three weeks into our sojourn through the Maldives. The good
news is that we are enjoying the sailing, swimming, schools of reef fish,
daily dolphin sitings, and the occasional Manta Ray. The bad news is that
this world renowned reef system is 90% dead from coral bleaching. We wonder
how long before the fish disappear too. Heartbreaking. This country's
economy depends on very high end tourism and the attraction is the diving.

[status]Another day, another beautiful bay ? what we saw of it, that is. We mostly had an indoor, rain day in pretty constant drizzle. Our heater is getting a pretty good workout here, but it?s keeping us toasty and warm.

Note on the bay: there?s room to swing here. There is a buoy that can be used to pull your boat closer to shore, but with the way the sandflies have been the last couple of days, we decided not to use it. We?re anchored in about 4 meters with what seems like good holding.

[status] report at 1900 local time Monday. Departed Ann Bay, on north west coast of Tasmania this morning and sailed up past Cape Grim and the Doughboy Islands. Zigzagged around Brown Rocks, Bird Island and up through Hunter Passage assisted by engine and sails. And then a rollicking sail northwards to Coulomb Bay, Three Hummock Island. Glorious scenery along the way on a bright sunny day.
