[password] beavis[position] 34 10.55S 22 08.56E[weather] sunny, calm winds[status] Anchored outside Mossel Bay harbor. We had quite a lively sail yesterday with 25-30 knots of wind, gusting 35 for most of the afternoon. Fortunately the wind and seas were on our stern, but it was a rough ride and we're glad that's over! Conditions started abating early evening which was great because both of us slept well when we were off watch. All is well! Making progress towards Cape Town.

[Status] Spent a few days cruising the hongs of Phang Nga Bay.
Spectacularly beautiful and peaceful once you get away from day boats. Now
we are at Krabi with a million noisy longtails ferrying tourists to and
from the beach. Tomorrow we head back to civilization to make final
preparations for our Indian Ocean crossing. I'm out of food after a week of
cruising - how will I provision for 4 months. Yikes! Plus permits, visas,
insurance, taxes... Ugh! Hope to be out of here first week of February.

[status] Anchor down around 1:45 PM Wednesday at beautiful Taroa Island, Maloelap Atoll in the Marshall Islands after an overnight passage from Majuro. The first part of the passage was marked by heavy rain and squalls gusting 37 knots but bringing welcome SE wind, before later turning NE 20-25+ knots. John caught a mahi-mahi outside the lagoon and also landed a "doggie" (Dogtooth tuna) inside while crossing to the anchorage so he's got a smile on his face and the fridge is bursting.
