The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.

[weather] wind 3-5 knots NE seas glassy calm clear sky
[status] yesterday afternoon the wind filled in enough for us to sail at 4-6 knots into the evening . Sunset was stunning as normal with a full moon on the other horizon - makes you feel you are somewhere special when you see it like this - just wish there was some wind though !
Wind died during early hours so motored from 4 am - still motoring at 5 pm so boat def getting lighter in diesel!

[status] Rapa - after yesterdays adverse weather throughout the day, by 4pm the winds started to abate, the waves in the bay disappeared and 'normal' service returned, it even started to feel a little warmer. The roast chicken dinner was another huge success and we all retired fairly early ready for our walk up the hill today!

[status]S/V PEREGRINE begins the 9 day sail to Vanuatu on Monday at 5:00 pm New Zealand time.
we're traveling at 6.5 knots on a 332 heading. We have traveled roughly 135 Nautical miles of our 950 nautical mile trip.
The weather conditions are clear, rolling seas with 1/2 to 1 SE meter seas. Happy the seas are not so big, yet the rolling can be annoying.

After a very slow night, with winds around 5kts, which we managed to sail due to flat calm seas, we are now back to hull speed and 15 knot winds out of ENE. So we successfully transited from one high pressure system to the next, back to blue sky and not a cloud on the horizon. We also passed in between Wagner and Schubert, are about to race over Rossini and will then leave the musicians behind.
