[status] Raivavae is an example of how life used to be in the islands before tourism changed everything . The locals are friendly but not imposing themselves wanting anything and there is just nothing commercial about this place at all - it makes a refreshing change to see that places like this still exist - the natural beauty of the mountains would make this an attraction especially for divers and fisherman I would think but nothing will change here fast at all.

[status] 0600 20 May 2018. I have to keep pinching myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. Another night of wonderful sailing. W winds on the beam at 12-15kts, smooth seas with just 0.5mtr swell, clear sky, 1013 on the bar. Course is 015T, and averaged 6.5kts for last 12hrs. For us that is very good. Toronui has been out of VHF range since yesterday. Now Rewa is in range, and sited her a few miles to our west, also heading for Minerva Reef. With the great sailing, needless to say all is well onboard.

[status] Ghosting along in light winds which are fading as expected. Had a lovely sail today. We'll let the sleeping off-watch enjoy the gentle rocking and quite as long as we can and then will fire up one engine and motor through the high pressure ridge.
