[s] A nice sail last night and through most of the day as the wind eased. As the wind backed rapidly to NE and NW and eased to 3 to 5 kts we motored for a few hours and are now hove-to. Perfect time for a mid-passage beach party with lots of swimming in 9800 feet of water. Intention is to motor the remaining miles to Tikopia in time for a mid morning arrival to see if the anchorage is tenable.

Moved to another great anchorage spot at Middleton Reef, just because we
wanted to explore a bit. Did some snorkeling until a bull shark (we think)
decided it was time for us to leave the water (we are cowards, you know?).
We think we'll head on to New Caledonia tomorrow.
