The cabin of a small yacht is truly a wonderful thing; not only will it shelter you from a tempest, but from the other troubles in life, it is a safe retreat.

[status] Moored in Savusavu Bay. Planning to set off tomorrow to go west. Destination is an anchorage off Nananu-i-Cake, near Wellington Wharf, near a kite-surfing lodge. Checking weather before we decide on whether we will take the northern inside route through Nasonisoni Passage or sail out to Makogai Channel.

[status] Report at 0530 Monday 5 September (Vanuatu time) Now anchored in Gaspard Bay adjacent to the Maskelynes Islands off Makelula Island. Came here in search of dugongs. Have seen a few fleeting glimpses of the seacow. This is a beautiful bay surrounded by mangroves. Entering the bay required careful navigation due to surrounding reefs. Yesterday Peter was a VIP at Lamen Bay Presbyterian Church as it was Father's Day.
