We must free ourselves of the hope that the sea will ever rest. We must learn to sail in high winds.

[status] At Anchor insaide South Minerva Reef. Caught a small Wahoo. Might be here for a week according to the weather report. Winds and waves still strong for the next few days and then switch from the north in a few days, and that's the direction I want to go. At least I can sleep for a few hours instead of minutes.

[status] Winds have gone to the north of east, giving us poor sailing angle. Fortunately, seas are calming down somewhat, so beating may at least be tolerable. Just over 100 miles to go; will have to slow down or heave to, to avoid a nighttime arrival tomorrow. Other than being tired (tough to sleep well in these conditions), all is well on board.

[status] Strong wind and gusts have propelled us further along than expected although it has been a boisterous ride with the beam seas. We should reach South Minerva at midday today and then perhaps decide to continue on to North Minerva. 40 nm to go to South Minerva and 61 nm to North Minerva. All is well on board. We are each looking forward to the other person taking a shower upon arrival.
