[status] As of 2015-06-02 11:45 UTC: Numerous squalls over past 24 hours. The squalls pass fairly quickly but sometimes they pack a punch with the wind gusting to 25-30 knots in the stronger ones. Wind backed to SSW after a strong squall late in the afternoon Wind continuing to slowly back. Put out a fishing line but no luck so far. Beautiful luminescence in the water near the beam of the boat.

[status] Moved "down river" from Whangarei to Marsden Cove Marina on the late afternoon tide today, where we will finish up some "non-essential" boat projects and wait for a decent weather window to sail to Vanuatu; could be a bit of a wait - but that's okay, we have lots of good books on board! All is well.

[s]Anchored @ 'Bay of Islands', inside Qilaqila Island at the top end of Vanua Balavu. Great spot, not a light to be seen. Big hookup today but no result. Took one of the Sovu Passages (romoured to offer surf) out of the lagoon to run lures all along the outside reef in 200m to 20m (whoops). Just the one hit. Sea Mercy briefing meeting tomor

[status] Pos at 1800 NZST A challenging 24 hrs for the K2 crew with a lot of squally weather and a stiff NW backing through to the SW. Made the call to divert from the Minerva stop off and head direct to Fiji as expecting easterlys and possible NE in the coming days. All is well onboard and crew in A1 shape. Sharron, I have not heard from minno on VHF or by relay through vessels astern of us.I will keep an ear out. No fish as of yet, hopefully tomorrow. Night all
