The wind has almost totally disappeared, and after sailing comfortably until midnight, we decided to start the iron genoa around 2am. Hoping the (predicted??) northerly boots in so that we can finish this amazing passage with the flying colours of our turquoise spinnaker.

All is well! We are flying along down to NZ, happy that the breeze is holding and that the seas have laid down. Doing 8-9 knots in 13-16 knots of wind, one reef in main, full jib. We have 369 miles to Opua and about 400nm to Whangerei, and will shoot for a Saturday arrival, hopefully missing the small front. It is getting colder however, and we have discovered SOCKS again for the first time in 13 months. Keep Rolling FAMILY CIRCUS!

[status] We are motoring with glassy gently rolling seas. The nice breeze we had last night has faded. Yesterday was also a good breeze at night and then very light from sunrise. Beautiful days with large smooth swell from various directions making changing valleys and smooth sailing. With about 195nm to go, at present course and speed we should arrive in Opua late tomorrow afternoon. All is well on board.
