Monday 27th July

We left Shaw Island this morning and headed to the famous Whitehaven Beach.
To get there we had to go through the Solway Passage. This meant timing it
with the tide. We got through just as the tide changed and even in the slack
tide the turbulent and eddie currents moved our 25 tonne boat around quite a
lot.

[status] Yesterday a sunny Shanghai-La, today blue icebergs as big as
houses near Le Conte Glacier, tonight docked amongst the fishing fleet at
Petersburg. No boredom on this boat! We?ll be in Petersburg for a few days,
locating a replacement part for our chartplotter sonar and attending to
miscellaneous chores.
