All gorged out after today. Very spectacular, very touristy, very cold water. Started on road/track to Boggy Hole in the Finke Gorge Nat park, but road was terrible so it was going to be a slow 33ks. Turned back and went into Palm Vally and found a nice spot in the dry Finke river bed for the night instead. So much to do around this area, prioritising is tricky!!!![END]

[status] A very showery day today. Pootled around to Matagi (pronounced Maa-tangi) this morning. Tricky little anchorage but we have put a stern anchor out. Off to explore the reef and island when it stops raining.

Arrived safely in Wallis. Came through the fairly narrow pass about an hour ago, had 3 knots of current coming out towards us, with wind and swell coming from behind. The result was very steep waves and it felt like we were in a large washing machine, getting pushed from side to side. Once through the tricky pass, the water is flat calm, very much like inside Minerva reef, but with bush clad islands inside. The water is a pretty blue and 29 degrees. Time for a swim!
