[status]decided to stay put in our White house bay after taking a run out to assess the falls as they are termed at devils point meet with head winds in the mid twentys and up to 33kts which would have made for a rather interesting passage, as one has to turn pretty much side on to head into port villa 3 Mtr plus rollers would have been loads of fun , yea right !!! As we are still with time on our side decided to sit and wait it out for the winds to abate.

[Status] Saturday, Nov. 2. We left Richard's Bay on Tuesday afternoon with
the high tide (to get over a sandbar) and arrived in Durban the next
morning. Richard's Bay marina was pleasant enough but RB is a coal shipment
port and we were appalled by the amount of coal dust covering the boat! We
were eager to move south and hoped to go farther than the 90 miles to
Durban but the weather would not allow it. Durban is disturbing. There are
