Destination: Port Denarau, Fiji
Introduction
Port Denarau is Fiji's premier purpose-built marina facility, situated on the southwest coast of Viti Levu just 7 km from Nadi international airport, and the primary departure point for the passenger ferry network serving the Mamanuca and Yasawa island chains. The marina complex includes a full-service boating facility alongside a substantial shopping and dining precinct, making it the most infrastructure-rich yachting destination in Fiji. While more resort-oriented than the cruising atmosphere of Musket Cove or Savusavu, it provides unrivalled convenience for yacht deliveries, arrivals, departures, crew changes, and offshore provisioning.

Protected Anchorages
Port Denarau Marina operates floating pontoon berths accommodating vessels to 50 m LOA. There is no practical anchorage within the marina precinct. Limited anchorage outside the marina is possible in the approach channel area in calm conditions only. The approach through the reef from seaward must be made via the marked channel in good light — shallow patches exist on either side and the approach is not straightforward at night. Vuda Point Marina, 10 km to the north, offers an excellent anchorage area for vessels not using marina berths.
Customs Protocols for Visiting Yachts
Port Denarau Marina can facilitate customs clearance with advance arrangement but is not a first Port of Entry — vessels arriving internationally must clear at Lautoka or Suva first. Contact the marina office well in advance for clearance assistance. Once cleared into Fiji, Port Denarau is freely available. The marina has 24-hour security and good VHF monitoring.
