[s]As expected in this area between the trade winds, the winds have been rather fickle. Winds have varied from 2-3 kts - when we motor - to low 20's in the squalls. Most of the last 24 hours as been close hauled to close reaching in 6 to 9 kt winds. Will likely stop at Tuvalu to celebrate Christmas at anchor and looks like a wide swath of no wind north of Tuvalu once this light easterly fades away.
