[status]We've been exploring the Phang Na area of Thailand with our friends. It's been a busy but fun several days. We will be heading to the marina today so we can drop them off for their flights tomorrow night. All is well.

[status] Whilst it was another night of robust sailing, the seas and winds eased as we got to the same latitude as the bottom of the Big Island. We're steering a course of 300T doing 6.5kts in an ENE15-10kt breeze and a 3m ENE swell. Cloud cover is 30%, we're hoping our last line of squalls just passed us by. We have let out the second reef in the main, brought in our little staysail and let out most of our 130% genoa. We have 80nms to go. Our ETA is around 10-11pm tonight.

[status] We sailed comfortably but slowly for much of the night, very peaceful as the full main and gennaker surged us gently along. Around 1:30 this morning the breeze had deteriorated to slapping sails, time for the donk. Gennaker furled and motor sailing with full main and jib. The sails are only just hanging in there from a slapping point of view in the small confused seas.

[status] The wind decreased through the day and we rigged and deployed the gennaker around 9:30. Have been sailing all day with full main and gennaker in winds between 10 and 13 knots. Seas are pretty calm, not flat smooth but a very small swell and waves. Been still making good progress but this evening we are slowing quite a bit.
Beautiful settled weather, sunny (starry) and warm and we are both well rested and in fine spirits.

[status] Sunday brought another night with 25-30 knot squalls and plenty of lightning interrupted by nearly windless spells.
Mostly light wind with confused swell from the west, south, and east made it difficult to keep the sails filled today as we watched the windex spinning in circles when the boat rolled side to side. The seas improved and wind filled in late afternoon so we're making better headway but still fighting an adverse current of 1.5 to 2.2 knots.
