The Gold Coast Broadwater offers excellent, well-protected anchorage and a large marina precinct on the Coomera River, making it the southern staging port for Queensland's Great Barrier Reef coast. The bar crossing at the Seaway requires timing and conditions assessment, but once inside the Broadwater the cruising is easy and the city facilities are comprehensive. A natural waypoint for north–south passages on the east coast.
