After ten solid days of consistent wind, we have hit a light patch - the motor came on for the first time earlier today for a couple of hours, and for the second time this trip we sighted another yacht, which we are currently working on passing in the light and shifty conditions - go Patea!

[status] Safely docked at SYC! Was mostly really good sailing broad reach for the last bit, apart from a sudden little rain squall with some lightning that had us dropping all sail for a short while.
Crossed the bar at the worst possible tidal state, spring low tide with water still ripping out of the channel. Not too bad though thanks to a very small swell at the moment.

[status] We did infeed need to motorsailing a bit again around midday today but this afternoon thevwind increased and have been sailing really nicely on a broad reach with favorable current now. Just 43 miles to go, we should be entering the seaway around 2am tomorrow. The full moon rising through the smoky sky has been stunning and should make the night time arrival super easy. Don?t know the tide situation but not expecting any issues crossing the bar as the swell seems very small.
