If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.

[status] A beautiful night thanks mostly to the almost full moon, including rise and set, enhanced by the Australian east coast fire smoke.

[status] It?s been a beautiful day, but not for sailing. We?ve been motor sailing on stbd gybe the whole day (mostly motoring, the sails haven?t been helping much. Around sunset the breeze picked up for a while to about 10 knots and we sailed for a while doing about 6 knots at a very square angle, only possible because the sea was almost totally flat. As darkness fell the motor went back on as the wind went lighter.

[status] As forecast the wind got very light and the motor started just before midnight. We motor sailed for a few hours but by this morning there?s not much wind pressure to play with and we are motoring with 1 reef mainsail for a bit of stability.
