Matin d'Or (French for golden morning), is a Westerly Ocean Master 48. She is number 16 of 24 that were built. We have owned her since February 2008. she is cutter rigged and with all her sails on furlers she is easily handled. In 2011 we added a solid hardtop which has made her very comfortable to sail and live aboard. we have sailed Matin d'Or from Auckland to Sydney, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Brisbane, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji.

We will have a new boat early January. She is MV Katherine, she's 5 years old and we're looking forward to a new direction.

Final stages of buying the next boat, we are downsizing.

Anchored at Lovely Roberton Island. Spent Waitangi Day at Waitangi, great occasion. Caught another fish.

Anchored at Whangamumu. Lunch at Poor Knights Islands, snorkels and explored coast and caves. Motored, no wind.

Anchored at Tutukaka. Caught very large kingfish. Saw sharks, lots of dolphins and pilot whales. Good sailing at times but lots of motoring as well.
