Matin d'Or

Matin d'Or (French for golden morning), is a Westerly Ocean Master 48. She is number 16 of 24 that were built. We have owned her since February 2008. she is cutter rigged and with all her sails on furlers she is easily handled. In 2011 we added a solid hardtop which has made her very comfortable to sail and live aboard. we have sailed Matin d'Or from Auckland to Sydney, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Brisbane, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji.

Loaded 4 x40kg bags cement on the back, in the black rubbish bags, these big strong Fijians are amazing, they picked them up no sweat. We're taking the cement to Makongi next week. Very hot today

Enjoying Savusavu we've had nice hot sunny weather, but raining this afternoon. Things look OK after the cyclone now, less palm trees and the market has less produce as most fresh stuff is shipped
