I've built an initial BETA page on YIT that does real time updates (5 second polling) on the Satellite Map, so you can track and see your position realtime over the Google Satellite maps. There is no track recording just yet, but that is soon to come. Also the ability to turn on updates to your page (if needed).
So give it a try, turn your location on and head to:
on your Tablet/Phone and fiddle with the hybrid (satellite) layer.
Once the page is loaded, it will slowly pull in some map data but it should be pretty light with the traffic as the only thing that is using the network is the map tiles that are changing slightly as you move.
