Anybody sailing to Fiji this year? perhaps Tonga? Vanuatu, New Caledonia or the rest of the world?
Yachties can now can see where the best places to go sailing are via the YIT destination planner. www.yit.nz/destinations Over 40,000 status updates from yachts, plus dive locations, anchorages etc all around the world. Click anywhere on the map and press search. Once searched, you can copy the url and send it to your friends.
Make sure you check it out, it's fun to use. Be careful though, it can suck up precious hours allocated to your boat chores!
Tips to using:
1) Set the radius to 100 miles or less for faster loading,
2) Pan around and click the map where you want to perform the new search. Then press search again.
3) You can share your last search by copying the url and emailing or messengering it to friends.
There are over 40,000 updates from yachts so there is plenty of info on destinations.
Coming enhancements include:
1) The ability to search for certain text on results and have a list appear below the map.
2) Date filtering
3) Boat filtering.
This tool will eventually be for members only but is currently available for all until the season starts.
