Hi C's
At Anchor, swing mooring at Waitui Marina Savusavu. Arrived Thursday afternoon after two great sailing days from Nananu i Ra Island in Viti Levu to Nadi Bay in Vanua Levu and then on through the Nasonisoni passage to Savusavu. It was lovely firing along at good speeds between between 6 and 7 knots with 2 reefs in the main and the genoa out full. Nasonisoni was a good experience. Using google maps on my ipad switched to the "satellite" setting is very helpful getting through these narrow passages between the reefs.
Booked a swing mooring at the Savusavu Marina, which is a little further up the creek from Waitui Marina, and will move up there on the 1st of December, 11 days to my departure from from Nadi Airport to Auckland for the Christmas, New Year period.
Anchored at Nanamu i Cake Island in the north of VIti Levu. Changed my mind about continuing up through the Yasawas due to problems I was having with Navionics and the lack of Yasawas charts. Sailed back to Vuda Point, stocked up quickly again and sailed and motored when necessary to my current location via Tavua Bay. Wednesday morning looks ideal in terms of weather to cross to Vanua Levu.
Weather. NE winds 6 knots. 80 % cloud cover Status. Second night back in the Yasawas at Waya after returning yesterday from Vuda Point Marina. Ran out of gas last Thursday so had to head back to the main land to refill and stock up with a few more essentials on the boat. Destination tomorrow is Somosomo Bay. Hoping to see a few other yachts at some point. And looking forward to setting my sails again for Savusavu..

A very frustrated Jack this morning with little progress. he is not running his engine due not much fuel left and it does not give much advantage in the seas. Only 55miles to go so surely we will report arrival tomorrow!
