In Newcastle waiting for customs. Beautiful night with stars and moon entering Australian waters. We could smell land way out at sea. We got the mainsail off and hamish will get the boom off as soon as possible. Very glad the boom held it together so we could keep sailing with the mainsail up.

Blue lagoon. Boats tourists hotels makes this place busy. A fire struck and we had to shift to avoid smoke and debris! Had some drinks ashore and meet other boaties and we also picked up our new guests Amanda and Peter!

Matagi island by Qamea island. A breach volcano bay. Very nice and sheltered in here . No palm trees on the beach , so almost a feeling of NZ , but with 3 little turtles swimming around it's definitely not.
50 at Yanuca island by Ring gold passage. Little private beach and beautiful snorkelling.
50 miles from Port Albert to Naqelelevu island. Wild and remote lagoon.
Port Albert on Rambi is a stunning bay. Great coral and beautiful beach! A couple of days to chill out with the Maloney.
Loretta and Jim joined us ! Nice to have friends onboard .
After a 30 hours sail from Fulaga lagoon we tucked in to this sheltered bay at Qamea island and had a great sleep
A real beautiful island, proper "casterway island" feel. There was a village person living there alone for his last 20 years in a great hut with food and cooking shelter. He died recently and everything remains exactly as he left it on the last day of his life. He did some great planting and with four sand beaches and a hidden garden this is as close to paradise as land can get.
after five days of kiting the wind finally dropped. Moved boat to be near pass and snorkelled through. Pretty amazing. Pot luck dinner with all four boats in lagoon, and what a fest.
Made the pass at 10 am with slack current and sun behind us. Such an amazing lagoon, the best I have ever seen by far. We will be here for at least 2 weeks! Hamish had a great kite session this afternoon. Sevu sevu at the village tomorrow morning.
