We are newbies to YIT. Yesterday's status was submitted on our MacBook. I just downloaded the YIT app to the iPad and am impressed with the set-up and the user friendly format. I'm assuming that we will be able to use this app while underway in the same way we use Earthmate via Delorme. If you have info about this I'd appreciate feedback.
We are in Marsden Cove Marina waiting for the next weather window. Auto pilot failed between Riverside Marina and Marsden. We cancelled our appointment with customs to clear out and did a sea-trial instead. Auto-pilot worked perfectly so we cleared out of NZ the next day. Got as far as Urquardts and it failed again. Threw a hook down, spent the night and returned to Marsden to clear back into the country. Lee & Bruce are so cool and laid back. Hired Scott from Empowered to do a sea-trial. We went through all the settings and re-calibrated for the southern hemisphere. Making lots of soup and herbal tea and playing scrabble. When we started cruising Larry was a beginner at Scrabble. Since we have been in NZ he has become a force to be reckoned with! It's bitter cold here, but you already knew that...that's why you left! Looking forward to seeing you in warmer temps.
