Glad to hear that you are both o.k. but v worried now that your motor has had it. How long will journey take now? hope you have enough water on board as I suppose you can't desalinate the sea water now without the motor. How many more miles do you have left to sail? Glad when you will be on terra firma. xxx Mam + Dad

Well we checked out, got our duty free fuel, got our heads in the right place and now the wind is not playing ball. We are seeing strong southerlies for arrival next tues. Will be interesting to hear Dave's take on it!!

You should be faster than 8 days says David. Do you take the sails down at night and go to sleep?! Front will hit Opua nz midnight sunday so you need to be moving quicker. Winds 32S will be westerly followed by sw so if you keep some westing and keep whipping the on watch crew you should be able to make it. Up to you. It us not a passage to dilly dally. You need to use the engine to keep moving. Pick when you want to get in, eg midnight to monday morning at the latest and use the motor to achieve this.

Hi Suzie and Steve! Great to see you are out there! We met in Napier when you first bought Hiraeth, and Andy and I were taking Sarrie down the Wairarapa same time as you. I have been told sailing around the North Island is a lot harder than cruising the Pacific. Is it true?? I am now living aboard in Opua (or elsewhere). It would be great to see you again!

Hi Antje and Andy, yes we remember you. Will send you an email - hope it still the same address. We plan to be back in nz soon and hope to catch up with you in opua.

Hi Peter & Wanda, we are looking at Sunday departure - but that could all change between now and the weekend. At the moment looking good for arrival in NZ on Sun 18th/Mon 19th. We would take at least 8 days. Suzie & Steve

Best wishes for safe trip down. Keep in touch.

Hi Bill & Hazel - thanks for wishes, may see you in NZ soon. Hope you shouting for the Welsh this weekend xx
