I assume your wind may be moderating in strength and direction, if not it will be soon as you get further south. you should also be able to make a more southerly course but keep tending west, this will pay dividends in a few days time. As you close on the North Island I suggest you stay west and aim for North Cape as opposed to points further south (i.e. Cavaliis). Metvuw is predicting the following wind directions for the sea area around North Cape, Saturday 15 knots N, Sunday 25 knots N-NW, Monday 20 knots W-NW, Tuesday 15-20 knots W, Wednesday 15-20 knots SW, Thursday 15-20 knots SW-S. Hope the fish are biting , sail safe. Regards Roy.
