Thank you to all our friends for your encouraging words and comments. Yes, it was well worth waiting for our passage across the Tasman. Light wind and settle conditions except for a few hours of 3 to 5Mtrs SW swell and 30 knts winds in the middle and a bumpy entrance into Tasman Bay. Sailed most of the way but we have use our engine at times. By going North in a long arc, we avoided the high SW swell and stronger wind as well as avoiding adverse conditions along the SW coast of NZ. Oh boring to some maybe but exactly what we where aiming for !
Nelson seams to have a sunny and warm micro-climate...since our arrival, weather feels much warmer than Tasmania ! We're looking forward to get to know area, its peoples and the local culture while hibernating here !
Cheers to all,
